Nearly 8,000 educators and church leaders will converge on the Broward County Convention Center this summer for the National Baptist Congress.
The congress from June 12 to 17 will feature about 100 classes on evangelism, finance, marriage, teaching ministries and other topics. Also planned are films, gospel music, health fair, dancing and drill teams.
The conference, serving the interests of African-American Baptists, was announced jointly by chairman T.B. Boyd III and Albert Tucker of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau. Tucker predicted the conference will bring $5 million to the local economy..
