When most people think of food at the fairgrounds, they don’t typically expect their choices to go beyond elephant ears and corn dogs. Fine wine and food prepared by esteemed chefs are definitely not on the menu. All that will change this month when the Fantastic Food Fest invades the Indiana State Fairground’s Champions Pavilion.
The Fantastic Food Fest will host more than 200 fine food and beverage exhibitors showcasing their skills as well as their cuisine. Attendees will find cooking classes, chef demonstrations, book signings, food tastings and appearances by TV food personalities and other celebrities. Exhibitors will offer free samples of products, but if you have a bigger appetite, it might be a good idea to purchase sampling tickets to use in the Grand Tasting Pavilion.
The Grand Tasting Pavilion is where guests will have the opportunity to try larger portions of the savory food being prepared. Local eateries will bring in samples of their most popular dishes. Restaurants that will be in attendance include Barbeque and Bourbon on Main and The Ville, an upscale Black-owned restaurant in Noblesville that serves American and New Orleans cuisine.
Wash that food down with fine wine. A variety of local breweries will be in attendance, including Indianapolis’ Buck Creek Winery and Bargersville, Indiana’s Mallow Run Winery. If you prefer beer, Indy’s Tow Yard Brewing and Blind Owl Brewery Kitchen and Bar will be in attendance.
Awaken your inner foodie by both tasting and learning how to make mouthwatering dishes at the Fantastic Food Fest.
