The Indiana Fever will conduct a Bright Pink Plaza Party on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 6, to encourage all fans to live proactively and provide education for breast and ovarian cancer health and learn risk reduction and prevention methods. A Brighten Up™ Educational Workshop begins at 4:30 p.m. in the Bankers Life Fieldhouse Entry Pavilion, followed by a plaza party featuring Fever players from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., on the Pennsylvania Street Plaza.
The Bright Pink Plaza Party highlights Fever activities as part of the WNBAās Breast Health Awareness Week. Indianaās BHA agenda is capped when the team wears pink uniforms on Friday, August 8 against the Washington Mystics on Breast Health Awareness Night presented by Community Health Network. For the fifth year-in-a-row, Fever players will wear special-order pink uniforms produced by adidas which will be auctioned for charity immediately after the game.
The Fever hosts the Mystics in a matchup of teams vying for WNBA playoff positioning. Tipoff is 7:00 p.m., doors open at 6:00 p.m. Fans are encouraged to #WearPink in support of breast health awareness. The evening includes a parade of breast cancer survivors during halftime. On Wednesday, the 20-minute Brighten Up Educational Workshop conducted by Bright Pink takes place prior to the plaza party with music, pink balloon dedications to honor loved ones impacted, fitness exercises, prizes and opportunities for autographs with Fever players. Bright Pinkās mission is to save womenās lives from breast and ovarian cancer by empowering them to live proactively at a young age. The first 100 people to register will receive a custom designed Vera Bradley bag, courtesy of Karen Penceās Indiana First Ladyās Charitable Foundation and Vera Bradley along with two complimentary Fever tickets, while attending the Brighten Up Workshop.
Immediately following Fridayās game, the fifth-annual Breast Health Awareness Live Auction features every playerās game-worn pink jersey among many autographed items for bid to benefit the Community Health Network Foundationās Breast Health Fund. The entire Fever team and coach Lin Dunn will assist with auction proceedings that also include pink game-worn shoes; autographed photos; other autographed items from Fever players, a variety of āexperienceā packages with Fever players/coaches; a cooking āexperienceā package with Coach Dunn; and a complimentary 20-person suite to the Feverās final regular season game on Aug. 16.
Over the past four seasons, Indiana Fever Breast Health Awareness auctions have raised over $130,000 for the CHN Foundationās Breast Health Fund.
