INDIANAPOLIS – The Brickyard Crossing, The Country Club of Indianapolis, The Fort Golf Resort and Woodland Country Club will serve as host courses for the 2012 Youthlinks Indiana Charity Golf Tournament, presented by Indiana Sports Corp. The event will take place Monday, June 25 with winners advancing to a special “shoot-out” at Crooked Stick Golf Club July 9.

The Country Club of Indianapolis and Woodland Country Club return from the 2011 event, while The Brickyard Crossing and The Fort Golf Resort will join for this year’s tournament. All four courses have hosted before. Winning teams from the four respective Youthlinks courses will advance to play an 18-hole scramble-style tournament at Crooked Stick on Monday, July 9. A celebration of the 25th anniversary of Youthlinks will take place at Crooked Stick following the “shoot-out” on the evening of Monday, July 9.

The Youthlinks Indiana Charity Golf Tournament is one of the largest and most prominent golf charity events in the nation. Since Youthlinks began in 1988, more than $6.2 million has been raised and distributed to support youth-based sports programs and initiatives in Central Indiana, including the Indiana Sports Corp CHAMPS Grant program.

World-renowned golf course designer Pete Dye and his wife, Alice, are honorary chairpersons and will be in attendance on June 25. The Dyes were 2002 Pathfinder Award recipients and have supported Youthlinks for all 25 years. The 2012 courses were selected specifically to honor the Dyes as they designed or redesigned all five courses.

“For the 25th anniversary of this great event, there is no better way to highlight Youthlinks and the CHAMPS Grant Program than to truly recognize former Pathfinder Award recipients Pete and Alice Dye,” said Dennis Bassett, Youthlinks Indiana Chairman. “Each of the courses for 2012, including Crooked Stick where we will host our first winners’ shoot-out, has a distinct Dye influence.”

The 2012 event marks the 25th anniversary of the charity golf tournament. Ten companies have provided significant sponsorship support to Youthlinks for all 25 years: Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Browning Investments, Chase Bank, Eli Lilly & Co., Faegre Baker Daniels, Hunt Construction Group, OneAmerica, Pacers Sports & Entertainment, Sport Graphics, and WTHR.

In addition to the Youthlinks tournament, this will also be the third year for the Tiffany & Co. Nine and Wine, Central Indiana’s premier networking and golf event for women. The event will be held at Woodland Country Club after the Youthlinks tournament. In addition to the golf event, participants will be invited to an exclusive Tiffany & Co. reception at their Fashion Mall location. The reception will feature private shopping, hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, and will be an invitation-only event.

It is anticipated that 525 golfers will participate in the Youthlinks Indiana Golf Tournament, while 120 women will participate in the Tiffany & Co. Nine and Wine.
