Treat your taste buds to BaconFest

More by this author

It’s safe to say that Hoosiers can’t get enough bacon. From soda, to candy canes, to alcoholic beverages, I’ve spotted bacon-flavored everything here. Furthermore, our local lottery created bacon-scented tickets, and there is even a city called Bacon in the southern part of our state.

With all of the love that bacon gets in Indiana, I figured Indy BaconFest 2017 would be an event I don’t want to miss. Who wouldn’t want to taste what happens when Indy’s top chefs incorporate bacon into all of their finest dishes?

“At this event, you can get a taste of high-end restaurants and try all types of food items. There will be a lot more space this year because of our new venue,” said Kristi Adams, with iHeartRadio.

Indy BaconFest is your opportunity to try bacon- and pork-inspired dishes from some of the best restaurants and chefs in Indianapolis, including Union 50, Drake’s, Louie’s Wine Dive and ClusterTruck. After attendees have had their fill of pork, they can wash it down with drinks from one of several full bars available at the event. Guests can try beer from Flat12 Bierwerks or sip on Woodford Reserve.

This year’s event will take place at The Pavilion at Pan Am. The change of venue will allow a bigger and better experience for guests. The Pavilion at Pan Am is nestled between Illinois Street, Georgia Street, Louisiana Street and Capitol Avenue.

The festivities start on Saturday, Jan. 28, at noon. Tickets start at $30 and can be purchased on Eventbrite.com. General admission tickets include four food tickets and one drink ticket, with additional food and drink tickets available for purchase at the event.

If you want to beat the crowd and get an early start on all the fun, early admission tickets are on sale for $50. These tickets allow attendees to enter at 11 a.m., and include five food tickets and one drink ticket.

If you want to give your taste buds a treat and find out what unique dishes can be crafted with one of Indy’s favorite foods, don’t miss Indy BaconFest 2017.
