Eggs-travagant activities to enjoy Easter weekend 2024

Easter weekend is a time to spend with family and loved ones, celebrating the coming spring — but we know the kiddos are excited to crack open those colorful plastic eggs for candy and treats from the Easter Bunny. 

The Recorder put together a list of a few of the Easter egg hunts, Easter Bunny meetups and spring-themed events going on in and around Indianapolis Easter weekend and the weekend before. 

Friday, March 22 

Moonlit Madness Egg Hunt 

Broad Ripple Park, 1500 Broad Ripple Ave. 

7:30-9 p.m. 

$11; registration required 

Broad Ripple Park is hosting an Easter event with a nighttime surprise! Bring a flashlight and dress appropriately for a “flashlight surprise” Easter egg hunt, special show, games, arts and crafts and snacks.

Saturday, March 23 

Adaptive Easter Egg Hunt 

Rhodius Park, 1720 W. Wilkins St. 

11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

$5; registration required 

The fourth annual Adaptive Easter Egg Hunt is a special event for special needs children ages 5-10. The event includes arts and crafts, activities, games and prizes, stuffed animals, an easter egg hunt and an appearance from the Easter Bunny. Call 317-327-PARK to register.

Easter Egg Hunt – Find the Golden Egg! 

Holliday Park, Spring Mill Road 

12:30-2:30 p.m. 

Free 

Spend the day searching for the Golden Egg amongst all the colorful eggs hidden in Holliday Park during this family-friendly and fun-filled event.

Presidential Egg Roll 

Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site, 1230 North Delaware St. 

9-10:30 a.m. 

Free; registration required 

The annual Presidential Egg Roll, presented by HATCH + Indiana State Poultry Association, features arts and crafts, music and more as kids race to roll wooden eggs through the grass. The Easter bunny will be in attendance, and each family will receive one dozen eggs at the end of the race.

Saturday, March 30 

Easter Celebration at Riverside Park 

Riverside Park, 2420 E. Riverside Dr. 

11 a.m. to noon 

Free 

Bring the kiddos out to Riverside Park for a safe and fun family-friendly Easter celebration, which may or may not include a special visit from the Easter Bunny.

Easter Egg-Stravaganza! 

Ellenberger Park, 5301 E. St. Clair St. 

1-2 p.m. 

$5; registration required 

Ellenberger Park’s third annual Easter event will feature an indoor egg hunt for children 9-years-old and younger, games, prizes and more. This event is BYOB (bring your own basket).

Easter Egg 5K 

Indiana State Museum Lawn, 650 W. Washington St. 

11 a.m.

Returning to White River State Park, the Easter Egg 5K includes Egg Hunt Dashes for kids of all ages, walk and run races for adults, and activities to enjoy for the whole family. The day will also include live music, food and drinks, egg hunts and free family photos.

Eggventure on the Canal

Indianapolis Cultural Trail presents an Easter scavenger hunt for participants of all ages. Featuring exciting challenges, games and candy-filled eggs, guests will be able to enjoy the Downtown Canal while completing the egg hunt for prizes. The event begins at Indianapolis Colts Canal Playspace

Indy Reads’ Easter Egg Hunt

This Easter weekend, Indy Reads will be full of more than just books. The Easter Bunny is making a stop at the bookstore, and kids who find one of the hidden eggs around the store will get a chance to answer a question and win a free used book. The hunt ends when the last egg is found.

Springtime on the Prairie 

Conner Prairie, 13400 Allisonville Road, Fishers 

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Conner Prairie presents a family-friendly day of Easter fun, with Easter egg hunts divided up by age groups, breakfast with the Easter Bunny, and activities like seed ball, egg dyeing, and flower crown make and take.
