IPS launches FAFSA Family Filing Nights

Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) is launching FAFSA Family Filing Nights to assist students and their families in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). 

The informative sessions will be held January through April and aim to ensure every student has access to the resources needed for higher education. 

To participate, families will need a FAFSA login ID, which may be created at studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch. Families will also need social security numbers, 2023 Federal Income Tax Return, W2s and Alien Registration numbers for an eligible non-U.S. Citizen.

The deadline for the application is April 15. Informational sessions will be held at the following locations and times: 

Crispus Attucks (hosted in the cafeteria) 

  • Jan 21, 5-7 p.m. 
  • Feb. 19, 5-7 p.m. 
  • March 21, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

George Washington (hosted in the Future Center) 

  • Jan. 22, 5-7 p.m. 
  • Feb. 12, 5-7 p.m. 
  • March 12, 5-7 p.m. 
  • April 15, 5-7 p.m. 

Arsenal Tech (hosted in the cafeteria) 

  • Jan. 15 and 29, 5-7 p.m. 
  • Feb. 12 and 26, 5-7 p.m. 
  • March 12, 5-7 p.m. 
  • April 9, 5-7 p.m. 

Shortridge (hosted in the Future Center) 

  • Jan. 28, 6-7:30 p.m. 
  • Feb. 13, 6-7:30 p.m. 
  • April 10, 5:30-6:30 p.m. 

IPS is also participating in College Goal Sunday from 2-4 p.m. on Feb. 25 at Arsenal Tech.
