The Fourth of July is not until Tuesday, but the weekend of festivities is kicking off early. The Recorder put together a list of (almost) all the festivals, fireworks and celebrations we could find going on around the city over the long weekend.

The Big Bang

Fourth of July Celebration

Glorious Fourth

Tickets are $18-$24

Featuring a traditional celebration honoring veterans, reading of the Declaration of Independence and singing, families are invited to enjoy an array of speeches, live music, reenactments and more.

Red, White and Blueberry Festival

All American Day in the Park

Presented by the Beech Grove Promoters Club, the annual holiday celebration will include food, live music, activities and a kidā€™s zone followed by a fireworks show at 10 p.m.

Free

Carmelā€™s annual summer festival celebrating the 4th of July will feature activities for kids and adults of all ages over two days, including live music, a talent show, beer and wine garden, food and drink vendors, and more.

Tuesday, July 4

4th of July Celebration

Kurt Vonnegut Museum & Library, 543 Indiana Ave.

Celebrate Independence Day with the Vonnegut Museum and Library, including activities such as WordPlay by David Hoppe, trivia with Lou Harry and music from the Buselli-Wallarab Jazz Trio, followed by the Downtown Indianapolis fireworks display.

Downtown Indianapolis 4th of July Fireworks

Round out the holiday weekend with Downtown Indyā€™s annual fireworks display at the Indiana War Memorial grounds and American Legion Mall. The show launches from the 500 North Meridian building and will be synced to music aired on local Emmis Communications radio stations B105.7, 97.1 Hank FM and 93.1 FM WIBC.

Independence Day Celebration

The Indiana Historical Societyā€™s annual Independence Day Celebration includes something for the whole family ā€” with patriotic themed crafts, activities and games, storytelling, and more. Admission to the history center will also be free during the day.

Fourth of July at Victory Field means celebrating the old-fashioned way ā€“ with hot dogs and Americaā€™s favorite pastime. Join the Minor League Baseball team for a game against the Memphis Redbirds followed by the Downtown Indy fireworks show.

Teaā€™s Me 4th of July Celebration

Teaā€™s Me Cafe, 140 E. 22nd St. B & Tarkington Park

Come out and spend the 4th of July at Teaā€™s Me Cafe with games and activities, food and drinks, and raffle prizes. Festivities begin at the 22nd street location from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and conclude at the Tarkington Park location from 2:30-4 p.m.
