The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) announced a new recruitment partnership with the Indianapolis Colts to attract recruits to serve the city of Indianapolis.
IMPD Chief Chris Bailey provided a statement regarding the new partnership.
“Teamwork, leadership and resilience are skills that translate not only on the field but also into a successful and rewarding career in law enforcement,” Bailey said. “By collaborating with the Colts, we can share this message with a broader audience and inspire future officers to protect and serve the city we all love.”
Colts center Ryan Kelly visited the IMPD Training Academy Nov. 19, engaging with participants in the department’s Pre-Academy Readiness program (PAR).
The PAR program prepares candidates for the physical and mental challenges they encounter at the training academy.
Each session includes a structured workout, helping participants enhance their fitness and build the endurance required for police training.
Kelly, the son of an Ohio State police officer, sees the impact that strong community and police partnerships can have.
Colts fans will see IMPD recruitment messages featured on outdoor signage during select games, in publications such as the Colts Scout and Yearbook and hear radio spots on 93.5/1070 The Fan and 97.1 Hank FM promoting IMPD career opportunities. Additionally, IMPD recruiters will be visible at various Colts games and in American Family Insurance Touchdown Town, providing a chance to connect directly with community members interested in public safety careers.
Colts vice president of communications & external affairs Steve Campbell believes the partnership is heading in the right direction.
“The Colts work closely with IMPD each season, but our commitment to and appreciation for the department extend far beyond our game days,” Campbell said in a statement. “We are pleased to use our platform to highlight IMPD’s recruitment efforts and attract individuals who genuinely want to serve others and contribute to making our community a better place to live, work and raise a family.”
