Maintenance worker charged with the murder of missing teen 

A maintenance man accused of killing a teen at her apartment complex on the northeast side of Indianapolis was officially charged with her murder.

A family is now grieving after news of a missing teen being found dead.   15-year-old Janiya Carr was reported missing by family members over the Halloween weekend.  Police reports show she was reported missing on Monday.

Officer-involved shootings: 14 total, 10 within three months, two within one week 

There has been an officer-involved shooting in every IMPD district this year.   During the week of Oct. 23, two officer-involved shootings occurred within two days of each other.

Family tells the Indianapolis Recorder, Kalin Janae Washington was the victim to the shooting incident that left a total of ten people, ages 16 – 22, shot.

A total of ten people, ages 16 – 22, were shot, with one woman killed, after a party on the city’s northeast side early Sunday morning. 

Suspect killed, officer injured in latest officer-involved shooting 

A shooting incident on the east side of Indianapolis resulted in death of a suspect and injury to an IMPD officer.  

IMPD shot man out of tree in latest officer-involved shooting 

A man was critically injured after an IMPD officer shot him out of a tree. This marks the 13th officer-involved shooting for the year. More than half of these incidents occurred after Aug. 1. 

Family suing IMPD and seeking justice after man shot while sleeping in grandmother’s driveway

Seven seconds. That is how long it took IMPD officers to fire over thirty rounds into Anthony Maclin’s rental car in the early morning hours of Dec. 31, 2022, as he slept in his grandmother’s driveway. Maclin was hit three times.
