Indiana men receive national recognition for their sense of style, ranking 7th in a survey of 3,000 women.

The survey by DatingAdvice.com identified the states with the best-dressed men, offering insight into local fashion trends and the styles women find most attractive.

Indiana’s fashion, sometimes called “Midwestern Comfort,” is celebrated for its practical, laid-back appeal. Characterized by plaid shirts, jeans, warm work boots and a touch of sports culture, the style reflects an easygoing vibe.

Women in the survey appreciated Midwest Comfort for conveying “a dependable, no-frills image, hinting at a man who’s loyal and hardworking.”

This ranking places Indiana ahead of many other states, including style icons nationwide. However, it’s worth noting that New Jersey’s “Urban Edge” style claimed the top spot, blending trendy streetwear like fitted jeans, leather jackets and designer shoes.

Oklahoma’s “Cowboy Classic” look, utilizing cowboy hats and button-down shirts and Pennsylvania’s “Classic Americana” swag, also earned high marks.

Senior Editor at DatingAdvice.com Amber Brooks noted that men’s fashion can be “a bit of a minefield.”

“Even if men think they’re looking good, their date might not agree,” she added.

The survey also highlighted fashion blunders that men should avoid. Socks with sandals is ‘a style sin’ 35% of women voted to ban.

Other notable style no-gos included over-the-top bling and outdated low-rise jeans. Head-to-toe camouflage was cited as the ultimate “dealbreaker” on a first date by 32% of respondents.

The recognition nods to Indy’s blend of practicality and sports-inspired flair.
