Lilly Endowment Inc. is launching two multi-year initiatives to help K-12 public and private schools in Marion County to improve studentsā academic achievements and prospects after high school.
The Endowment is allocating up to $600 million for these initiatives for more than 80 public school districts, private schools and networks and charter schools and networks.
All school districts and networks are eligible to apply for planning, implementation and competitive grants under three phases within their initiatives. Eligible applicants total more than 300 schools in Marion County.
Phase 1 will be available to support applicants in the planning stage for phase 2, the implementation proposal for programs or projects aimed to improve student success. Applicants will have the opportunity to compete for larger grants in phase 3. Funding from phase 2 and phase 3 may be used over a five-year period.
The Endowment will review implementation and competitive grant proposals and expects to approve and award funding by the end of 2025.
āDespite the best efforts of countless talented educators, too many students in Marion County K-12 schools are not achieving adequate educational success,ā said Ted Maple, the Endowmentās vice president for education. āWe hope that the programs and projects funded under these initiatives will significantly enhance their studentsā academic achievement and prospects of success in their future endeavors.ā
