The second annual BIPOC Community Empowerment Summit returns to Martin University this week.

Hosted by the Indianapolis Foundation, in partnership with Partec Consulting Group, the annual two-day summit takes place April 18-19, and aims to ā€œprovide a dedicated space for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) led grassroots organizations to network, collaborate, and enhance their operational capabilities.ā€

The theme for this yearā€™s event is ā€œTransforming Our Communities Together,ā€ which centers around the idea of the summitā€™s commitment to ā€œfostering sustainability and collaborative success among BIPOC-led grassroots organizations.ā€

Guests will be welcomed for a networking opportunity during the Evening Reception on Thursday, April 18 from 5-7 p.m. Here, grassroots leaders can meet and connect with peers and funding representatives from around the city.

On Friday, April 19 from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. guests can attend a full day of workshops and discussion sessions featuring a keynote address by NaTika Rowles from the Black Community Fund in Kansas City.

During the summit, Partec Consulting Group will have a meeting room where guests can meet with seasoned experts throughout the day for complimentary consultation. The event will also welcome the launch of the Marion County BIPOC-Led Grassroots Organizations Sustainability Survey, which will act as a new initiative to measure and assist the growth of local grassroots organizations.

The BIPOC Community Empowerment Summit takes place at Martin University, 2186 North Sherman Dr. It is free to attend, but registration is required at Eventbrite.com.
