The public is invited to the free documentary film premiere showcasing the history and impact of St. Rita’s Church on Saturday, Aug. 19, from 2 –5 p.m. in the Gathertorium at Martin University.
In the spirit of the joy and celebration of its recent centennial, St. Rita’s Church presents to the community a continuous opportunity to come together. The Church, founded in 1919, takes its place in the annals of history as a gathering place, not only for worship, but also for families, friends and neighbors to interact as a community.
This event, of historical importance, consists of the opportunity to participate in and support the remembrances of some of the people and activities in the Martindale-Brightwood area as related to people, events and programs at St. Rita Church and School.
In the form of a film premiere, the documentary presents an opportunity for recalling from an historical point of view – yet relatable to the present.
All ages are welcome. Refreshments will be served during the documentary film premiere. A free copy of the DVD is available for a minimum donation of $40. Proceeds will benefit the capital campaign for the renovation of the St. Rita buildings and grounds.
Martin University is located at 2186 N Sherman Drive, Indianapolis, IN, 46218.
