“He who watches the wind [waiting for all conditions to be perfect] will not sow [seed], and he who looks at the clouds will not reap [a harvest].”

Ecclesiastes 11:4

“A flawed plan that is carried out is better than a perfect plan that is never implemented.”

“You can pray until you faint, but unless you get up and try to do something, God is not going to put it in your lap.”

Can you believe that we’re approaching the close of the first month of 2024?  I know some of us may have resolutions and other plans in store. This year I decided, as far as resolutions are concerned, I am not going to do it.  It ends up being a list and I worry about not getting through it.

But I do have an intention that I am pursuing as a form of self care. I want to change my status from “It’s Complicated” to being in a full blown relationship with Prayer.

Prayer and I …. We go together.

Prayer reminds me that when we spend time together, my spirit is recharged, my soul is renewed and my body revived.  Prayer is a continual conversation with God that takes me through journeys I never thought I would survive.

Prayer and I … We go together.

Prayer reminds me that I need to break up with my Exes –

  • Exhaustion from trying to do it on my own.
  • Extending myself more than I should
  • Excessive perfectionism that never gets things done
  • Expecting that I can do it all alone

Prayer is an interactive conversation that includes speaking to God but also time to listen, receive and be still.  And after taking time to soak up the presence of the Spirit, Prayer fuels me to do God’s will.  We are called to put legs on our prayers by moving and taking action in the direction of what we prayed for instead.  This connects with the scripture that said – “Faith without works is dead” – Prayer is the power that fuels whatever we are called to do. Pray with your feet, your hands and your hearts so that your impact on the world is true.

Remember that even though we are past the first part of 2024.

New Starts aren’t just confined to New Year’s Day anymore.

Just as the sun rises each day with this message to send.

We always have the invitation to begin again.

There is also the opportunity that has always remained

Our relationship status with prayer can always be changed

From “It Complicated” to being in a full blown relationship.

Prayer offers meditation, wisdom, listening and worship.
