The Circle City is gearing up for a big weekend as it welcomes Taylor Swift and her tour Nov. 1-3. To enhance the concert experience, the Indy Arts Council will host a series of pop-up performances and interactive art-making stations throughout downtown Indianapolis.
With an expected uptick of 200,000 visitors, āTaylor Swift Weekendā promises to be a celebration of music and community, showcasing local talent and creativity.
The pop-up performances will occur across 13 outdoor locations, featuring over 100 musicians and spoken word artists curated by Musical Family Tree and INSPIRE Music Collective. Audiences can enjoy live acoustic sets, instrumental stations and poetry performances from 2-6 p.m. on Nov. 1, and from noon to 6 p.m. on Nov. 2 and 3.
Key venues include Monument Circle, Georgia Street and the Indianapolis Artsgarden. The latter will host āMake & Takeā art stations from 1-6 p.m. on the final two days.
Vice President at Indy Arts Council Kavita Mahoney expressed excitement about the events.
āThis is a unique opportunity to spotlight our artists and performers while bringing our community together,ā Mahoney said in a statement.
Additionally, Mahoney believes that the pop-up performances will benefit the Indianapolis economy.
