The Indianapolis Recorder in collaboration with the Greater Indianapolis NAACP chapter presented a town hall conversation on workforce diversity among the city’s major healthcare providers.

Top decision makers represented IU Health, Ascension St. Vincent, Community Health Network, Eskenazi Health and Franciscan Health.
The day long town hall took place Nov. 11.
Topics discussed focused on race and place: How a patient’s location determines typical health outcomes for them, and the correlation between poverty and mental health.
Respected Indianapolis mental health professionals discussed managing stress, navigating through crisis, preventative actions and more. There were also 20 vendors on hand at the event sponsored health fair providing resources and information.
The Indianapolis Recorder and Greater Indianapolis NAACP hosted a previous town hall earlier this year featuring hospital CEOs and top leadership heads discussing similar topics as part of its “Racism Is a Public Health Crisis” series.
