Women-led art show to kick off Women’s History Month

EmpowHER: The Art of Being a Woman, a new art exhibition, aims to showcase the many facets of womanhood.

Hosted by PATTERN, the women-led art show kicks off its opening reception on March 8 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at The Stutz. The exhibition features artwork from 12 local female artists, illuminating different aspects of womanhood and conveying messages of love, strength and solidarity. 

The opening reception is geared toward “celebrating the strength, resilience, and beauty of being a woman” and the work on display is dedicated to “celebrating the women of Indianapolis,” according to the website.

EmpowHER: The Art of Being a Woman opening reception will feature live music from Elizabeth Lee and light refreshments from women-owned bakeries LaCretia Cakes, Filigree Bakery, the Flying Cupcake and Flavors by K. The event is free and open to the public. To register, visit eventbrite.com.
