This year, Community Health Network had a baby born at all five of our hospitals on New Year’s Day.
The first New Year’s baby arrived at Community Hospital South at 1:22 a.m. Ismael Casillas-Caldera weighed in at 7lbs, 8oz and was 20 inches long. This is the fifth child for mom, Dora Caldera and she says Ismael is her biggest.

Dora and Adrian Casilla are excited about taking their new bundle of joy to their home to meet Ismael’s siblings on the south side of Indianapolis.
Community Health Network’s second New Year’s baby was born at Community Hospital North at 6 a.m. The baby boy is the first for parents, Tanaya and Jimmy Jett of Greenfield.
He weighed 6 lbs 9.9 oz and was nearly 21 inches long. He is named after his dad, Jimmy Jett.
Community Health Network’s third New Year’s baby was born at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo. Mayday Madeliene Marie Rappuhn arrived at 11:16 a.m. She weighed 7 lbs 9 oz and was 21 inches long. She is the daughter of Abigail Marie St. Clair and Derek Rappuhn.
This is the couple’s first child. Mom is a comic fanatic and named the baby after Spiderman’s daughter, “Mayday.”
Community Health Network’s fourth New Year’s baby arrived at Community Hospital East at 2:38 p.m. Allison Karl is the daughter of Derek and Christy Karl of Indianapolis.
Allison weighed 9 lbs 4 oz and was 22.5 inches long.
This New Year’s baby is getting special care in the hospital’s NICU.
Community Hospital Anderson welcomed Community Health Network’s fifth and final New Year’s Baby at 9:38 p.m. Hazel May Swander is the daughter of Ashley McIntire and Doug Swander of Yorktown.
Ashley is also a Registered Nurse at Community Hospital Anderson.
Hazel, weighed 8 lbs 4.2 oz at birth and was 19 inches long and met her 12-year-old big brother Drake.
Eskenazi Health
Over at Eskenazi Health, they welcomed its first baby of 2024 around 4 a.m. at Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital. Odensley Orilus came into the world weighing 6 lbs., 15 oz and measured 18.9.”
IU Health
Over at IU Health baby Easton was born at 1:00 a.m. to parents Cassie and Morgan Denney of Pendleton, Indiana.
Easton came into the world weighing 6 lbs, 5 oz and was 3/4 inches long.
Easton is the couple’s first child.
