IBE and partners host college and scholarship fair

Indiana Black Expo, Inc., along with the 100 Black Men of Indianapolis and the Infinite Scholars Program, will host the 2011 College and Scholarship Fair presented by Vincennes University on Jan. 29, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Venue Conference Center, 5110 W. Pike Plaza Rd.

The 2011 College and Scholarship Fair will allow students to have the opportunity to apply for scholarships and speak one-on-one with admissions and financial aid office representatives from more than 50 colleges and universities. More than $3 million in scholarships were awarded last year to local area college-bound students.

The confirmed list of schools includes, but is not limited to: Bethune-Cookman University, Hampton University, Indiana University, Kentucky State University, Morehead State University, Morehouse College, Purdue University, South Carolina State, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Tuskegee University, U.S. Military Academy, University of Kentucky, Wilberforce University and many more!

The free event is open to the public and includes workshops on helping families understand the financial aid process, National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) eligibility, and how to write a college or scholarship essay.
