Indiana Black Expo, Inc. announced that Perry G. Hines has joined the organization as its Chief Operating Officer.
As COO, Hines will manage and coordinate the day-to-day operations, including fiscal management, procurement, personnel, and human resources operations. He will also be responsible for the overall development and refinement of performance management, quality control, and accountability systems to ensure that IBE ās mission, goals, and objectives are accomplished.
Hinesā extensive and varied background in marketing, strategic planning and operations spans global Fortune 500 companies and the nonprofit arena. Hines served as the former senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Irwin Mortgage Corporation, Swiss Reinsurance Corporation, Lincoln National Reinsurance Corporation and American States Financial Corporation that was later acquired by Seattle-based Safeco. More recently, Hines served as president of Truth @ Work, a non-profit membership-based organization.

Hines serves on the boards of several local and national organizations including the Indianapolis Urban League, where he is the current chairman; University of Minnesotaās Carlson School of Business Alumni Advisory Board; Western Kentucky University Presidentās Advisory Board; Boy Scouts of America Crossroads Region; Indiana Convention & Visitors Bureauās Music Crossroads Initiative Advisory Board; Heartland Film Festival; and Central Indiana Youth for Christ.
Hines has an MBA from the University of Minnesota and a bachelorās degree from Western Kentucky University. He also attended Indiana University School of Law. Hines will begin his duties on Feb. 1.
