Two men beat a truck driver in Indianapolis and stole a trailer full of 1,250 cases of miscellaneous liquor, police said Friday.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan police department said the unidentified armed suspects pulled a Wisconsin driver from his big rig outside National Wine and Spirit early Friday morning, The Indianapolis Star reported.

The two suspects hit driver Richard Miller, 54, on the head with an unspecified object and left him handcuffed inside an empty trailer, police said.

Miller, who had been sleeping inside his truck when the robbery began, was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.

The two individuals escaped with the trailer full of liquor by detaching it from the man’s tractor and attaching it to their own truck, police told the Star.
