Indianapolis choir James Andrews and New Seasons has won the American Stroke Association’s Most Powerful Voices competition and will perform at the Power Awards this week at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem, N.Y.

James Andrews and New Seasons was the winner in the small choir category and will join large choir winner Dexter Walker & Zion Movement of Chicago, Ill. in a performance at the show, which will be televised at a later date by The Word Network.

James Andrews and New Seasons was also chosen by EMI Gospel as the grand prize winner and will receive a professional coaching session from national gospel recording artist Myron Butler.

“New Seasons and I are so excited about being the grand prize winners of the contest,” Andrews said. “We want to thank everyone that took the time to vote for us here in Indianapolis and across the country. We’re thrilled to be able to perform at the Power Awards Show in New York and looking forward to our coaching session with Myron Butler.”

The American Stroke Association joined with GMC (the Gospel Music Channel) to educate people about stroke through the online singing competition, which ran from Jan. 19 to April 6.
