JAZZ IN THE PARK/BLUES IN THE HOOD

Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and coolers to the Jazz in The Park/Blues in The Hood concert series. On Sunday, May 14, from 5ā€“8 p.m., Charles ā€œChubbyā€ Massey (Chubby & The All Stars) will be performing at the American Legion Post 249 at 2523 N. Martin Luther King Jr. St.

OPEN BITE NIGHT

Taste delicious dishes from local cooks, chefs and caterers at Open Bite Night: Revolution. This fundraising event will be held outside, block party-style, at Watkins Park and at Flanner House. Proceeds will go toward several local non-profit organizations including GRoE Inc., Flanner House of Indianapolis Inc., The Learning Tree, Voices Corp, Groundwork Indy and the Kheprw Institute. Admission to the general event area with performances, youth activities and merchandise vendors is free for all, but admission to the food area is $3 for those residing outside of the 46208 ZIP code.

T.I. AT THE VOGUE

Hailing all the way from Atlanta, hip-hop artist T.I. will touch down at the Vogue on Thursday, May 18, at 9 p.m. Tickets can be purchased on ticketfly.com for $49.

KENNY ā€˜BABYFACEā€™ EDMONDS AT HORSESHOE CASINO

Donā€™t miss out on a chance to experience the sounds of Indianaā€™s own Kenny ā€œBabyfaceā€ Edmonds, May 12 in the Showroom at Horseshoe Southern Indiana, 11999 Casino Center Drive SE, in Elizabeth, Indiana. The show starts at 8 p.m.

500 FESTIVAL KIDS DAY

On Saturday, May 13, engage the whole family in the excitement of the 500 Festival at the Chase 500 Festival Kidsā€™ Day ā€” the stateā€™s largest outdoor free festival for children. This event incudes a meet and greet and an autograph signing with Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson, a free performance from Carly Rae Jepsen, mini car racing, games, face-paining and race-themed arts and crafts.

R&B singer Carl Thomas, best known for his No. 1 R&B smash ā€œI Wish,ā€ will be performing at The Vogue on Thursday, May 11, at 9 p.m. Tickets start at $40 and can be purchased at thevogue.com.
