Veolia Water names Gadis to executive position

Veolia Water North America, the leading provider of water and wastewater partnership services to municipal and industrial customers, has named David Gadis of Indianapolis as executive vice president of sales, marketing and government affairs.

Gadis will support the company’s North American municipal growth strategy and help deliver Veolia’s expertise to communities needing help with infrastructure and water issues.

Serving most recently as president of Veolia Water Indianapolis, Gadis directly managed the operations of Indianapolis’ water treatment, storage and supply system, serving a million people in Indianapolis and Central Indiana.

During his tenure and despite the difficult economic climate, Veolia Water retained a strong commitment to employees and jobs, without a single layoff. Under his leadership, the water utility set new records for water production and helped the city meet its initial goal of freezing rates for five years.

“David brings a wealth of experience in helping cities meet their infrastructure and environmental needs,” said Laurent Auguste, president and CEO of Veolia Water Americas. “We believe his understanding of the realities facing cities, and his knowledge of the pragmatic solutions that are available to them, will bring tremendous value to our clients and to those looking to meet service requirements and protect the environment while staying in budget.”

Gadis joined the Indianapolis Water Co. as vice president of shared services, becoming chief operating officer in 2002. With Veolia Water, which began to manage the system in 2002, Gadis helped Veolia earn the United States Conference of Mayors’ 2006 Public/Private Partnership Award, as well as the Mayor of Indianapolis’ Celebration of Diversity Award and the Indiana Minority Supplier Development Council’s Circle of Excellence Award. Gadis worked with his colleagues at Veolia to increase procurement opportunities for diverse firms by 600 percent.

Gadis has also been a frequent presenter at conferences around the nation.
