Special to the Recorder
Are you interested in owning your own business? Simon Property Group Inc. will host a franchise fair to bring together prospective owners and franchise representatives from noon to 5 p.m. on Feb. 26 at Castleton Square Mall.
The event is free and open to the public.
Information will be available from organizations that provide necessary and valuable resources for prospective business owners, including banks, consultants and legal services.
Supporting nonprofit groups, such as the Small Business Administration, Central Indiana Small Business Development Center and Senior Core of Retired Executives (SCORE), a nonprofit association dedicated to helping small businesses start, grow and succeed nationwide, will also be represented.
“For individuals interested in owning a business, franchise opportunities are often appealing because they can be replicated and frequently offer significant growth potential,” said Lea Willingham, mall manager of Simon Property Group. “The franchise fair is a one-stop-shop for information gathering and a chance to make connections.”
Choosing a location is a critical decision for new business owners and franchisees looking to expand. Leasing representatives from more than 15 Simon properties will be on-hand to discuss opportunities for franchise locations throughout Indiana including Indianapolis, Bloomington, Evansville, Fort Wayne, Kokomo, Lafayette, Muncie, New Castle and South Bend.
According to industry consultant FranNet, franchised businesses are the cause of nearly 21 million jobs representing 15.3 percent of all U.S. private-sector jobs.
