INDIANAPOLIS—As part of its effort to realign and strengthen the airport’s management team, the Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) is pleased to announce
the appointment of Al Stanley as its new chief information officer. Stanley started in the position on Nov. 9.
Most recently Stanley served director of engineering, research & development for Follett Software, a division of Follett Corporation with annual revenues of $2.3 billion. He has 20 years of global IT experience in business technology, infrastructure, software engineering, and technical leadership.
Stanley has held a variety of corporate IT leadership positions, including director of software development, vice president of engineering, and chief technical executive for multi-billion national and international corporations in the fields of telecommunications and financial services. He has directed the implementation of large-scale, Web-based B2B and B2C e-commerce applications and has managed IT teams of 150 employees.
“Al Stanley has an impressive record of innovative, results-driven technology
leadership,” reported John D. Clark, IAA’s executive director & CEO. “He has built firstclass,
forward-thinking IT teams with demonstrated success in creating and executing IT
systems and strategies.”
Clark added the airport authority’s new CIO will be a vital member of the airport’s
executive team and will ensure Indianapolis is well-positioned to successfully meet the needs of a rapidly changing aviation and airport industry.
Stanley serves on boards and advisory boards of several technology associations
and non-profit organizations, including the American Electronics Association, the
Sacramento CIO/CTO Forum, and Opera Carolina. He holds a degree in management
information systems from California State University.
