I did not know the quote from Bishop I.V. Hilliard on Friday would prove to be so true so fast.
Hilliard stated “Pastor John F. Ramsey Sr. is a rare young man, committed to integrity, family and the people of God, he is committed to kingdom building the right way.” This statement proved to be very true Sunday evening at New Life Worship Center, when the very transparent Ramsey delivered the news, that Grammy award-winning Marvin Sapp would not there. Actually, New Life Worship Center did not need Sapp to come, the real star of the show, Jesus, showed up in grand form.
The intercessory prayer period was very anointed, but yet subdued, with people quietly praying in their seats, with a minister from New Life softly praying through the microphone. Then the praise team and choir, took the choir stand and set the atmosphere.
The song “Lord You Are Awesome” took the service to a whole new level. The more they sang the song, the more real it got. The atmosphere was so charged up, the praise leader had to let a shout go forth. Right after this shout is when Pastor Ramsey delivered the news that Pastor Marvin Sapp would not be there.
The choir did two more selections, one with a national recording artist Fatima Dugger, the remake version of “I Really Love You Lord,” originally recorded by Milton Brunson and the Thompson Community singers, of Chicago, IL. The second selection, “God Blocked It,” by Kurt Carr, of Houston, Texas, brought the house down once again, and made it easy for Pastor John F. Ramsey to bring the word. Pastor Ramsey took his text from II Kings Chapter 4.
Pastor Ramsey brought the word as only he could. He has 24 years of preaching experience, and 8 years of pastoral experience, he knows the New Life congregation better than any other preacher, so he did the excellent job of preaching his own anniversary. New Life did not need anyone else to come in and preach, they have a talented pastor, parented by one of the best, Bishop I.V. Hilliard.
Monday, August 3, Bishop Paul S. Morton Sr. Presiding Prelate of the Full Gospel Baptist Fellowship will be the featured speaker. Bishop Morton has a reputation of showing up for his engagements, so he will be here. He has been coming to Indianapolis, since New Life became a church. That service starts at 7 p.m. at the main campus. Morton will sing, preach and flow in the anointing. Everyone is invited to come out and fellowship, but come expecting great things!
