This afternoon, Congressman Andre’ Carson’s office released an official statement announcing he and his wife’s separation.
Carson, who has served as U.S. representative for Indiana’s 7th congressional district since 2008, said the following:
“Mariama and I are sorry to say that we have separated and have decided to get divorced,”
“It is a very amicable and truly mutual decision. It is unfortunate for both of us but we continue to have the utmost respect for each other. This is the only statement either of us will make on this private family matter.”
Longtime educator, Mariama Shaheed Carson, is the founder/principal of Global Preparatory Academy and a Mind Trust Entrepreneur Fellow.
The pair have one child.
