Questions and answers with Coach Hicks

Coach E: Is Broad Ripple High School what you expected?

Scott Hicks: Broad Ripple High School has exceeded my expectations. It is a great school with a lot of tradition. I’ve been very impressed with the talented young men and women who walk through the halls every day. I have several family members who have graduated from Broad Ripple and now I understand why they’re so loyal and excited about being a part of a special community.

When it’s all said and done, what do you hope to accomplish as head basketball coach at Broad Ripple?

When it’s all said and done, our program wants to provide a positive experience for each team member that participates and certainly achieve our goals of winning championships. But more importantly, I want our young men to understand the importance of discipline, respect and character. With these values, they will be productive citizens.

Why should I send my kid to Broad Ripple?

Broad Ripple Magnet High School already has a rich history and tradition and I would highly recommend it as a school of choice. The school provides a learning environment where “student achievement” is the number one priority. The administration and teaching staff are professional and the arts and humanities magnet is tremendous. I’ve also been very impressed with the Broad Ripple alumni and, like I mentioned earlier, “the student body.”
