The Indianapolis Public Library’s (IndyPL) Small Business Series returns to Central Library with free workshops this fall.

The 2025 Small Business Series, designed to “inform, inspire and guide” local business owners and entrepreneurs through every stage of their business journey, runs Sept. 8-30 in the Clowes Auditorium at Central Library. The programming features free, in-person workshops alongside a dedicated legal clinic designed to “support both seasoned business owners and those just starting out,” according to a press release.

“We’re excited to host the Small Business Series for a fourth year,” Kate Lietz, IndyPL public services librarian, said in a statement. “No matter where you are on your business journey, whether you’re exploring a new idea or running an established venture, these sessions offer practical guidance and helpful resources. Our goal is to equip local entrepreneurs with knowledge and support.”

The series kicks off on Sept. 8, with comprehensive programming running through Sept. 30. Guests can expect to explore essential topics related to owning and running a small business, including financial statement analysis, business law, marketing strategies and intellectual property protection, according to a press release.

New this year, two of the workshops will also be presented in Spanish.

“Supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs is articulated within our 2025-27 Strategic Plan. This workshop series is a direct reflection of our strategic commitment to providing access to the tools, knowledge, and resources that help business owners grow, thrive and contribute to a stronger local economy,” Greg Hill, IndyPL CEO, said in a statement.

IndyPL’s 2025 Small Business Series is supported by local organizations, such as the Indianapolis Recorder, Latinos Indy, Indy Chamber and the Indianapolis Bar Association.

The 2025 Small Business Series is free to attend, and walk-ins are welcome. However, guests are encouraged to register. To register for the 2025 Small Business Series or view a full workshop schedule, visit indypl.org/business/small-business-workshop-series
