The Indiana Department of Child Services will host a panel discussion via Internet radio broadcast March 27 about what is required of today’s social workers and what the job is really like in the field. Lisa McQuire, director of the IUPUI bachelors in social work program, and Megan Gelarden, family case manager of the Morgan County DCS office, will share information about qualifications, education, practices and working directly with children and families in crisis.
The program will begin promptly at noon, and end at 12:30 p.m. Panelists will take caller questions at the end of the program. DCS encourages anyone interested in becoming a social worker to tune in. Listeners can hear the program by visiting: Blogtalkradio.com/idcs.
