Like many Hoosiers, my family has always called Indianapolis home. I grew up here, am raising my daughter here, and am honored every day to represent my long-time friends and neighbors in Congress. I take pride in my hometown and its people, which is why I am committed to ensuring our city remains a strong economic player for generations to come.
Building a strong city starts with putting people to work in good paying jobs. Thatās why every August, I work with Ivy Tech Community College to host my annual job fair. If you or someone you know is looking for work, I hope you will join me on Aug. 5, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Ivy Tech Corporate College and Culinary Center, located at 2820 N. Meridian St.
Many of our Cityās best places to work have joined a growing list of attending employers, including Eskenazi, Indiana Grand Racing & Casino and NOBLE of Indiana. In addition, the fair will have a prep room where attendees can briefly prepare to meet employers and learn about resources in our community.
I know finding work can be difficult, particularly if you do not know where to start. Whether you are looking for employment or considering options for a career change, this job fair will have a wide array of opportunities to explore.
I encourage you to visit my website at Carson.house.gov where you can learn more about my upcoming job fair and view the latest news and updates about pertinent issues and legislation important to you. You may also sign up for my weekly e-newsletter The Carson Courier to receive periodic updates on my activities in Indianapolis and in Washington, D.C. There, you will find information about my office hours where my team travels to local neighborhoods to answer questions about your concerns. My staff and I are here to serve you. Please feel free to contact me if we ever can be of assistance.
