Last week, Thomas Carr Howe Community High School senior point guard Alvin “PJ” Boutte led his team to two impressive wins against Muncie Southside and perennial class 4A powerhouse Lawrence North. Last year, Boutte accepted a scholarship offer to play basketball at the University of Detroit. He has provided steady leadership this year by averaging 17 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals per game for the 10-5 Hornets.

Alvin “PJ” Boutte: I serve as a mentor to middle school students and have participated in countless community service hours to benefit Howe Community School. I am an academic leader, and maintain a 3.6 GPA and will receive an academic honors diploma in May 2011. I also am a member of the IPS Athlete of Character Program.
