Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Indiana announced that Lynn Scott has been appointed as the president of its Medicaid health plan on Aug. 26. Scott will oversee the plan’s operations, which serve over 700,000 Indiana residents enrolled in the stateās Medicaid programs.
Anthem’s Medicaid health plan serves Indiana residents enrolled in the Hoosier Healthwise, Hoosier Care Connect, Healthy Indiana Plan and Indiana Pathways for Aging programs.
President of Anthem Medicaid Kurt Small believes that Scott is the right person for the job.
“Lynn’s extensive experience in the health care sector and her commitment to serving Indiana communities make her an ideal leader for our Medicaid health plan,” Small said in a statement. “We are confident in her ability to guide our team as we continue to innovate and improve the lives of our members.”
As president, Scott will ensure that Anthem’s Medicaid members have access to health care and support services. She will also work to strengthen relationships with state leaders, providers and other key stakeholders.
Scott brings approximately 20 years of experience in the managed care industry to her new role. She has a proven track record of transforming business models and team building.
Prior to joining Anthem, Scott held leadership positions at several health care organizations. Additionally, she is a mentor to young women and girls and is passionate about the therapeutic benefits of animals.
“I am honored to join Anthem and contribute to their mission of improving health and lives across Indiana,” Scott said in a provided statement. “I am excited to work with our team to enhance our services for our Medicaid members and to strengthen our partnerships within the community.”
