The 14th annual family fun filled back in school carnival celebration will be Aug. 23 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Julian Coleman School #110, 1740 E. 30th St.
The free carnival will feature arts and crafts, music, storytelling, dance, age appropriate games, food and family activities.
In addition, there will be immunizations and health care services available for attendees. Haircuts will be provided by Kenny’s Barber Shop.
According to sponsors, the carnival is held to encourage parents to participate in their children’s educational process, and to direct families to community resources as well as bring together community partners through collaborative efforts.
City officials, members of the Marion County Sheriff’s Department and Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and representatives from the Colts, Pacers, Ice, Fever and Indy Parks are expected to attend.
