On Aug. 17, Wishard-Eskenazi Health will present the Eskenazi Health Center North Arlington Health Fair at 2505 N. Arlington Ave. in Indianapolis. The free health fair will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is open to the entire community.
One of Wishard-Eskenazi Health’s missions is to reach out and connect with the community. This year, Wishard-Eskenazi Health is teaming up with the community to host nine health fairs throughout Indianapolis. The events will offer comprehensive health screenings and information on a variety of topics.
Fair goers will enjoy fun activities while participating in dozens of free health screenings and information booths in a family-fun environment. In addition, the Wishard-Eskenazi Health Pharmacy Department will be collecting unwanted prescriptions medications for safe disposal.
“This event provides a great opportunity to get our message out while also introducing people to the new name as Wishard transitions to Eskenazi Health,” said Dr. Cynthia Reed, medical director, Eskenazi Health Center North Arlington. “By us opening up to the community and providing free health screenings and helpful advice from medical experts, the community will have a chance to learn ways to be healthier while being in a fun and friendly environment.”
A team of health care professionals will be on hand to administer the free testings. Health checks provided during the fair will include blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, BMI and a cardiac risk assessment.
In addition, participants will also have the chance to visit a wide variety of informational booths dealing with topics such as asthma, nutrition, health insurance, community resources, sleep apnea, WIC and more. There will also be fun activities available for the entire family. Door prizes and giveaways will be announced throughout the event.
Eskenazi Health Center North Arlington, which is located on the eastside of Indianapolis, provides a medical home for families in the areas of internal and family medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, adolescent care, mental health and social services. The center is one of 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.
