Looking for fun things to do in Indy for Juneteenth? Here’s a list of events to enjoy as you celebrate this year. 

Saturday, June 1  

Juneteenth Jamboree  

Indianapolis Children’s Museum, 3000 N. Meridian St.  

10 a.m. – 5 p.m. 

Free 

Celebrate with trivia, live performances, a giveaway, a sash-making workshop led by Miss Indy Juneteenth and more. Register for the event here

Thursday, June 13 

College and Career Conference  

2186 N. Sherman Drive 

12 – 4 p.m. 

Free 

Students are welcome to celebrate Juneteenth in a series of workshops educating them about college, choosing a major, Greek life, HBCUs and more. Food is available for a small fee. Register for the event here

Juneteenth Foodways Festival 

Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site, 1230 N. Delaware St.

Free 

Enjoy a range of diverse food and items made by local retail partners at the third annual Juneteenth Foodways Festival while learning about Dolly Johnson, a black chef appointed by President Harrison, in a reenactment by Freetown Village. Find out more about the festival here

Saturday, June 15 

7th Annual Indy Juneteenth Festival and Parade (sponsored by Old National Bank) 

Historic Military Park at White River State Park, 601 W. New York St.  

10 a.m. 

Free  

Celebrate Juneteenth with a parade and a festival, starting at noon, that features live music by DJ Mary Jane. More information can be found here

4th Annual Juneteenth Jubilee  

Fort Ben Cultural Campus, 8920 Otis Ave.  

4-8 p.m. 

Free 

Join Arts for Lawrence (AFL) to celebrate Juneteenth with live music performances, art, food trucks, and kids’ activities. No registration is required. Find out more about the event here.  

Center for Black Literature & Culture (CBLC) 7th Annual Book Fest & Juneteenth Celebration  

Central Library, 40 East Saint Clair Street  

11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  

Free  

Join the Center for Black Literature and Culture (CBLC) in uplifting African American authors at their seventh annual book fest and Juneteenth celebration. The event includes an author presentation, a talk by featured speaker and top 100 author JaQauvis Coleman and more. Read more about the event and its history here.  

Juneteenth Celebration at Crown Hill Cemetery 

Crown Hill National Cemetery, 725 W 42nd St.  

4-8 p.m. 

Free 

Commemorate Juneteenth to the tunes of Bashiri, Rob Dixon, and the Tony Bryant Project and the tastes of Black Leaf Vegan, Bundt Cakes by the Pound and more. See more information here

Juneteenth Celebration: History, health and the arts 

Indiana State Museum, 650 W. Washington St. 

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Take part in free activities, watch a new documentary, and enjoy live performances for Juneteenth at the Indiana State Museum. Find out more here

Annual Juneteenth and Jazz Community Celebration  

Eiteljorg Museum, 500 W. Washington St. 

11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sunday, June 16 

Juneteenth Black Heritage Gospel and Blues Concert  

Indiana Landmarks Center, 1201 Central Ave. 

6 p.m. (VIP at 4 p.m.)  

$25 ($20 for members of Indiana Landmark)  

VIP reception and performance $50 ($40 for members of Indiana Landmark) 

Celebrate Juneteenth to the tune of gospel and blues. Featured artists include Ethel McCane, Kelly Jo Nibbs, Scraper & Skelton, Music Box with Lester Johnson and Ezra Buford and more. Read more about the event here

Juneteenth (Freedom Day) celebration and vendor fair  

MXP Shop (Ms. Franklin Candle Co. & Phiri), 7826 North Michigan Road 

12-5 p.m.

2nd Annual Indy Juneteenth Boxing Showcase  

2186 N. Sherman Drive 

3 p.m.  

$5 for kids, 
$20 for general admission, $50 for VIP (must be 21+ to purchase)  

Enjoy food and a full bar while watching 15 amateur boxing matches including the return of Jason “Beast of the Midwest” Starks. Buy tickets here.  

Indy Juneteenth Father’s Day Knockout Comedy  

2186 N. Sherman Drive 

8:00 p.m.  

$20 for general admission, $30 for ringside  

Celebrate Father’s Day and Juneteenth together with a comedy show and a boxing match. The event will feature comic Daaaamn Damon, Dwayne Cobb, and Ambur James and will be hosted by J Bland Made Man. Buy tickets here

Wednesday, June 19 

Juneteenth Jubilee  

13400 Allisonville Road, Fishers, IN 

5-8 p.m.

Free  

Support Black-owned businesses while enjoying music, an 1856 balloon voyage ride, and a kid’s zone with a bouncy house and face paint at Conner Prairie. This event is in collaboration with Fishers Art Council and Fishers High School Future Black Leaders Club. More information about this event can be found here

King-Klean: A Community Service Event  

8 a.m. to 12 p.m. 

Free  

Celebrate Juneteenth with the community as you help give back to the neighborhood with the Center for Leadership Development’s “King Klean” event. Register for the event here.
