Five Community Health hospitals were recognized by the Indiana Hospital Association for their commitment to infant and maternal health at the INspire Hospital of Distinction recognition program.
INspire was developed to encourage the best care for Hoosier mothers and babies and to recognize hospitals for their commitment to doing so.
“The daily work of our delivering hospitals makes a monumental impact on the lives of so many Hoosier moms and infants in every corner of our state,” former Gov. Eric Holcomb said. “These caregivers are much needed and appreciated, and we will continue to partner with them to support our shared goal of a healthy Hoosier tomorrow.”

The hospitals recognized included Community Hospital North, Community Hospital East, Community Hospital South, Community Hospital Anderson and Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo. Each earned recognition based on practices in seven key areas, including infant safe sleep, breastfeeding, tobacco prevention and cessation, perinatal substance use, obstetric hemorrhage, maternal hypertension and social determinants of health.

“We are delighted to be recognized at all five of our delivery sites,” said Amy Wire, Community Health Network vice president of women’s and newborns’ product line. “Our perinatal leaders and caregivers work tirelessly to hardwire evidence-based processes that promote high-quality outcomes for moms and babies in Indiana. The synergy of all five delivering hospitals, which aim to reduce maternal and infant mortality, illustrates the Network’s commitment to the promise of providing ‘Exceptional care, simply delivered,’ starting with our tiniest and most vulnerable patients.”
