Bank of America awarded the Eskenazi Health Foundation a $500,000 grant to support their new 95,000 square-foot community-focused health center on the east side.
The center opened its doors at 6002 E. 38th St. in April, and the grant will further Eskenazi’s goal to provide accessible health care to all residents.
“This investment is an acknowledgement of Eskenazi Health’s longstanding commitment to addressing the social drivers that impact the health and well-being of residents in Marion County and across Central Indiana, which is why we strive to support their missions with this funding,” said Andy Crask, president of Bank of America Indianapolis.
Patients at the center have increased access to financial counseling services, podiatry, chiropractic services, physical therapy, rehabilitation services, imaging and pharmacy services. The center includes primary care services for youth and adults, mental health services, OB/GYN services, mental health care, dieticians and social workers.
“Everything we do at Eskenazi Health is in the interest of health equity. Making the opportunity of good health and access to care available to everyone in our community isn’t just a component of our mission, it is our mission,” said Dr. Lisa Harris, chief executive officer of Eskenazi Health. “We are grateful for the support from Bank of America, which will help us expand our reach as we continue to address the barriers that prohibit many in our community from living healthful lives.”
The Anchor Grant is part of bank of America’s focus on supporting nonprofit organizations serving education, workforce, community development and basic needs. Bank of America was one of the initial donors to the project, donating $100,000 in 2022.
