More by this author

Garfield Park’s Conservatory offers activities and events to keep families engaged this summer, from gardening to nature programs.

Junior master gardeners

Plant your own garden, learn about growing food, explore the garden for critters, and more. The Junior master gardener program returns this summer to the Children’s Garden at Garfield Park. This nine-week program allows children to plant, tend to and harvest their own garden area while learning about a different gardening topic each week.

Junior Indiana master naturalist

This nine-week program is a great opportunity for any child interested in the outdoors to get a hands-on learning experience. The courses feature knowledgeable guests who will speak about Indiana plants, animals, soils and outdoor skills. Upon completion of coursework and volunteer hours, each child will earn his or her Junior Indiana Master Naturalist certification.

Little green thumbs

Bring your little gardener to enjoy the Children’s Garden. Participants will have the opportunity to plant, care for and harvest crops in the garden at this monthly program.

Bonsai Show

Join the Indianapolis Bonsai Club as members display a number of their unique bonsai plants. Learn more about bonsai from club members and purchase your own from vendors.
