The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified the eight victims who died in a mass shooting April 15 at a FedEx Ground facility near the airport.

  • Matthew R Alexander, 32
  • Samaria Blackwell, 19
  • Amarjeet Johal, 66
  • Jaswinder Kaur, 64
  • Jaswinder Singh, 68
  • Amarjit Sekhon, 48
  • Karli Smith, 19
  • John Weisert, 74

Several others who were injured in the shooting.

Police set up a reunification center at a nearby Holiday Inn, where families waited for hours to learn the fate of their loved ones.

FedEx policy says employees can’t keep their cell phones with them while working, which added to the confusion in the immediate aftermath.

The suspect, identified by Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department as 19-year-old Brandon Scott Hole of Indianapolis, was a former employee at FedEx, the company confirmed. Family and friends told media he was fired in 2020.

Police said it appears Hole died by suicide at the facility.

Hole was known to Indianapolis police and the FBI. His mother called police in March 2020 because he expressed suicidal ideation, according to a police report.
