Jensy Godinez, a graduating senior at Indiana Math and Science Academy (IMSA) North, has received nearly $1 million in scholarship offers from 15 colleges and universities nationwide.
Godinez, who began attending the free public charter school network in fifth grade at IMSA West and transitioned to IMSA North for high school, has been recognized not only for her academic achievements but also for her success in extracurricular activities, especially debate.
āWhen the Debate Team returns home from a competition, Iām always proud of how well Jensy has done,ā said Barbara Garrett, principal of IMSA North. āShe is such a strong and dedicated student. She excels in many academic and extracurricular areas and is one of the kindest students on campus.ā

Despite coming from a small graduating class of just 38 students, Godinez earned admission to institutions including Marian University, Indiana University Bloomington and the University of Evansville, securing scholarships totaling $900,000.
“This experience has been overwhelming in the best way,” Godinez said. “I’m grateful for every opportunity and excited for whatās next.”
She plans to pursue a degree in Business or History, though she has not yet decided which college she will attend. IMSA North will hold its graduation ceremony May 22 at Marian University.
