Finalists for the Indianapolis Public Library CEO position will give public presentations at 7 p.m. Nov. 30 at Clowes Auditorium in Central Library.
There are three finalists, but the library won’t disclose who they are until Nov. 28, citing potential issues with finalists’ current employers.
The library’s previous CEO, Jackie Nytes, resigned in August 2021 amid allegations of racism. The allegations weren’t limited to Nytes, but many staff and community members called for her to resign, saying the library needed new leadership.
Nichelle M. Hayes, founding director of the Center for Black Literature and Culture at Central Library, has been interim CEO.
