Carolyn E. Mosby, president and CEO of Mid-States Minority Supplier Development Council (Mid-States MSDC), has resigned effective June 30. Mosby is the fourth leader of the nonprofit.

Mosby will become vice president of marketing communications for a global technology firm in Georgia.

ā€œIt has been an honor to lead the Mid-States MSDC and serve our corporate members, and certified Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs).ā€ Mosby said in a press release. ā€œI am proud of what we have accomplished on behalf of supplier diversity and development. We worked collectively to advance economic development for communities of color and we have been successful.ā€

Mosby, a leader in the National Minority Supplier Development Council network, received the organizationā€™s first Vanguard Award for outstanding leadership. In addition, she previously served as vice president, secretary and treasurer for the presidentā€™s leadership group. Mosby also received a 2021 Woman of Influence Award from the Indianapolis Business Journal.

Mosby expanded Mid-States MSDC to include Central Illinois and Eastern Missouri, partnered with financial institutions and grant-making organizations to develop and help minority-owned businesses grow and have better access to contract opportunities. A partnership with Indianapolis Minority Business Development Agency led to the creation of 1,000 jobs and more than $300 million in contracting opportunities.
