Carolyn E. Mosby, president and CEO of Mid-States Minority Supplier Development Council (Mid-States MSDC), has resigned effective June 30. Mosby is the fourth leader of the nonprofit.
Mosby will become vice president of marketing communications for a global technology firm in Georgia.
āIt has been an honor to lead the Mid-States MSDC and serve our corporate members, and certified Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs).ā Mosby said in a press release. āI am proud of what we have accomplished on behalf of supplier diversity and development. We worked collectively to advance economic development for communities of color and we have been successful.ā
Mosby, a leader in the National Minority Supplier Development Council network, received the organizationās first Vanguard Award for outstanding leadership. In addition, she previously served as vice president, secretary and treasurer for the presidentās leadership group. Mosby also received a 2021 Woman of Influence Award from the Indianapolis Business Journal.
Mosby expanded Mid-States MSDC to include Central Illinois and Eastern Missouri, partnered with financial institutions and grant-making organizations to develop and help minority-owned businesses grow and have better access to contract opportunities. A partnership with Indianapolis Minority Business Development Agency led to the creation of 1,000 jobs and more than $300 million in contracting opportunities.
