Martin University President, Dr. Sean Huddleston was honored by the Center for Leadership Development (CLD) with the Post-Secondary Education Award at its 43rd Annual Minority Achievers Awards & Scholarship Gala on March, 23rd.
He was among 80 students awarded more than $5 million in scholarships and 15 minority professionals who were celebrated for their accomplishments as community leaders.
āWe are immensely grateful for the opportunity to showcase these talented minority men and women and the incredible academic accomplishments of our students,ā said CLD President Dennis Bland, who has an honorary doctorate from Martin. āIt is critical we encourage personal development and educational attainment in minority youth today, as they will become the torch-bearing leaders of our collective tomorrow.āCLD students who have achieved distinction by being awarded scholarships from educational institutions are recognized at the event. Over $4.6 million in full and partial scholarship dollars were awarded to CLD Alumni in 2022. Over $30 million in scholarships have been awarded to CLD students since 2004.The annual Minority Achievers Awards & Scholarship Gala is a recognition by CLD and other leaders who come together to celebrate the accomplishments of minority professionals, leaders, and CLD scholars.The mission of the Center for Leadership Development is to foster the advancement of minority youth in Central Indiana by providing experiences that encourage personal development and educational attainment.
