Mike Epps, Indianapolis-based comedian and “hometown hero,” announced a free concert this weekend.
The concert will take place at 2 p.m. on Sept. 7 at Douglass Park, 1616 E. 25th St., and is focused on highlighting the positive impact of arts on mental health — especially in the Black community. With performances by Stokely, Donell Jones and Full Force, the concert will act as a day of celebration of music, arts and fun for the whole family, according to a press release from GANGGANG.
“Indianapolis, this is for you! Bring your friends and family outside for the ultimate free concert event,” Epps said in a statement. “Food trucks and vendor village onsite. Mental health resources too. Lots of love and healing.”

Hey! I can’t wait! Are we allowed to put up tents and bbq ourselves while in the park?
For this event they are not allowing personal barbecues. However, there will be food trucks and vendors on site.
