For those who are unable to attend the June 13 Strawberry Festival, the Indianapolis Recorder doesn’t want you to miss out on the sweet treats that could have been. Gordon’s Milkshake Bar has the perfect recipe to create your own Strawberry Festival right at home.
Founded in 2019, Gordon’s Milkshake Bar was born after founder Carl Gordon found success making shamrock shakes at the Irish Festival. Located on Massachusetts Avenue, plus a new location in Carmel, Gordon’s offers a unique twist on the classic milkshake, with flavors like banana matcha and cookie monster s’mores.
According to Gordon, one of the most popular items is their strawberry cheesecake ice cream nachos, the perfect sweet treat to make when that craving for fresh strawberries hits at the beginning of the summer.
To make Gordon’s famous ice cream nachos you will need:
- Flour tortillas
- Frying oil
- Cinnamon sugar
- Strawberry cheesecake ice cream
- Whipped cream
- Strawberry syrup
- Cheesecake bites for topping
Step 1: Cut and fry the flour tortillas in the oil until golden brown. Immediately coat with cinnamon sugar. Tortillas must be hot for the cinnamon sugar to stick.
Step 2: Place the fried tortillas at the base of your bowl. Top with two heaping scoops of strawberry cheesecake ice cream. Top with whipped cream (homemade if you want to be fancy). Drizzle with strawberry syrup and add cheesecake bites for extra creaminess.
Step 3: Enjoy!
Helpful tips: To make sure your frying oil is hot enough, flick cool water into the pan. You should hear a sizzle right away.
