Order your free at-home COVID-19 tests

More by this author

A government website to order four free at-home COVID-19 tests per household opened Jan. 18.

The website, covidtests.gov, requires only a name and shipping address. An email address is optional for shipping updates. The tests will be shipped through the U.S. Postal Service starting in late January.

The government plans to buy and distribute 500 million tests. President Joe Biden’s administration will also require insurance plans to cover up to eight at-home tests per month for each person on the plan.

The government will also make 400 million N95 masks available for free starting next week. They will be distributed through pharmacies and community health centers that have partnered with the federal governmentā€™s COVID-19 vaccination campaign. Each person can get three masks.
