East Central Indiana residents will soon gain access to advanced orthopedic care close to home through a new partnership between Hancock Health and OrthoIndy.
Starting July 1, OrthoIndy will become the exclusive provider of orthopedic services at Hancock Health, offering specialized care and coordinated treatment plans.

“This partnership is a win for our patients and our community,” said Steve Long, president and CEO of Hancock Health. “We’re proud to welcome the OrthoIndy team to Hancock Health and deliver clinical excellence together.”
Patients will benefit from expanded services, including sports medicine, joint replacement, spine care and orthobiologics, eliminating the need to travel to Indianapolis for specialized treatment. Dr. Stephen Shively, a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon at Hancock Health, will join OrthoIndy to provide continuity of care. Dr. Sameer Puri, a hand and upper extremity specialist, will also continue serving patients in Greenfield.
OrthoIndy’s president, Dr. Matthew Lavery, emphasized the collaboration’s patient-centered focus: “This partnership is about earning the trust of the community and delivering high-quality care that makes a real difference.”

The partnership reflects OrthoIndy’s ongoing growth, including the recent establishment of OrthoIndiana, a statewide network integrating top orthopedic practices. Future plans include further expanding subspecialty services at Hancock Health.
